  • note: Equilibrio North is made of silver granite from Støren in Norway. Height : 6 m Weight : 9 tons At five locations in Europe, the artist Rolf Schaffner erected his steles of natural stone-blocks (rocks): With the one near Cologne (1997) being in the centre, they are located in: Trondheim/Norway (2000) in the North, in Santanyi/Spain(1995) in the South, Cork/Ireland (2007) in the West and Volgograde/Russia(2005) in the East. By linking these locations with imaginary lines, the sign of the cross is being formed which leads to another powerful system and its balance. The sculptor named them “Meridians of Peace” Equilibrio means balance.
